This week, after some confusion, I was able to receive the bulk of my electronics and start setting them up. My plan was to pick up the electronics on Monday, but, due to some confusion on my part, I was unable to pick them up until Thursday. In the meantime, I used the resources my supervising professor showed my to boost applicable understandings of the mathematics behind positioning in worlds based on reference frames. This is a contribution to my base understanding of how robots move in general and allowed my to much better understand the resources I was attempting to use. In addition, I was able to install Gazebo on my VMWare image of Ubuntu and ROS which I am using to understand and model my robot. By using this, I hope to model movement. I am currently getting parts printed through one of the members of the BU Robotics lab and will be receiving them soon. Through this and the resources with the community that will allow me to prepare and work with my electronics and other hardware, I am poised to develop incredible momentum over the next couple of weeks.
